Creamy Garlic Chicken with Gravy
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon mustard (optional, for depth of flavor)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper.
- Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Make the Gravy:
- In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Stir in heavy cream and mustard. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the gravy thickens.
- Combine: Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the gravy over the top.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with mashed potatoes or rice.

Pro Tips:
- For extra flavor, add mushrooms or caramelized onions to the gravy.
- Adjust the gravy’s thickness by adding a little cornstarch slurry (mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water) if you prefer a thicker consistency.
